Novak Djokovic had no mercy on Stefanos Tsitsipas

Based on the appearance of Novak Djokovic versus Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy, the Serb is well positioned at the world ranking one at the end of the year. Djokovic will be replaced on Monday by Rafael Nadal at the top of the charts, but could overtake the Spaniard with a good ATP final tournament in London. Provided Nadal does not make his premiere victory in the hall in Paris.

Anyway, Djokovic started like the fire brigade, leading after 22 minutes with a double break 5: 0. As if he wanted to make a statement against Tsitsipas, whom he also failed in the quarter-finals in Shanghai a few weeks ago. 6: 1 so the first set, in the third game of the second round immediately two breakballs for the Serbs. Tsitsipas could counter at first, but Djokovic did not let up, got the 2: 1.

Djokovic now against Dimitrov

And did not look back afterwards. Especially since Tsitsipas slightly twisted his ankle in the fourth game of the second set. Djokovic won with 6: 1 and 6: 2. In the semi-final is now waiting Grigor Dimitrov, who could hold his own against Cristian Garin in two sets.

In the evening session, Gael Monfils will first try to secure his place at the ATP Finals in London with a win against Denis Shapovalov. Thereafter, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga could provide a second French highlight against Rafael Nadal. And at the same time help Novak Djokovic.
