The Spaniard, who won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games this year, secured the first round with a break at the right time with a score of 7: 5. Set two turned out to be even more balanced, this time a tie-break had to bring the decision. In the end, however, Carreno Busta also showed better nerves here, with 10: 8 in the short decision, the 30-year-old made the entry into the final of the ATP 250 event perfectly.

In this, Pablo Carreno Busta is now against Hubert Hurkacz. The Pole who started work at the top in Metz stopped the great run by the German Peter Gojowczyk in the semifinals. In two contested sets, the 24-year-old made it into his third ATP final of the season and the fourth of his career. So far, Hurkacz has won all of them. For Pablo Carreno Busta, on the other hand, it is already about the seventh title in his career, for Hurkacz there are four.
