Alexander Zverev may be young at the age - the German number one celebrates his 22nd birthday on Saturday - Zverev has already experienced a lot on the tennis court. And won. Three titles in Masters 1000 tournaments, plus the triumph at the ATP Finals in London last year. And this experience also played the number three in the world when he made his first appearance in Monte Carlo 2019 against Félix Auger-Aliassime. Alexander Zverev won 6: 1 and 6: 4 and faces Fabio Fognini in the round of 16, who benefited from Gilles Simon's task.

The first set on Court Rainier III lasted only 31 minutes, Zverev had three times his opponent's serve up to 6: 1. The past few weeks have shown that Auger-Aliassime is a player who learns quickly. The 18-year-old Canadian got Zverev's serve to 2-1, but could not save the lead over the second set. Zverev equalized, got his first match point after 78 minutes - and was able to celebrate reaching the round of 16 after a forehand error by his opponent.
