At the beginning, the American managed to force Novak Djokovic twice over on his own serve - but after the break to 3-2 for the Djoker, it was a smooth thing. Fritz made up for a break at the end of the set, but Djokovic managed a third to win the set.

In round two, it was a little tighter than the result says - Fritz made his first two service games very competitive. In the end he only got four points in set two when serving Djokovic.

Both players won 12 winners each, but Fritz was clearly behind in the unintended mistakes (28) (Djokovic only made 12).
