Kohlschreiber needed only 67 minutes against the Japanese, who had played through the qualification in the main field of Monte Carlo. Kohlschreiber, who was eliminated in round two against Pablo Andujar in Marrakech last week, won 6: 1 and 6: 3. As in Indian Wells, Kohlschreiber now meets the world number one Novak Djokovic.
