Philipp Kohlschreiber can again play against Novak Djokovic

Kohlschreiber needed only 67 minutes against the Japanese, who had played through the qualification in the main field of Monte Carlo. Kohlschreiber, who was eliminated in round two against Pablo Andujar in Marrakech last week, won 6: 1 and 6: 3. As in Indian Wells, Kohlschreiber now meets the world number one Novak Djokovic. At the first ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year, the German Davis Cup player won 6: 4 and 6: 4 after a tactical feat.

Kohlschreiber only allowed one break chance against Daniel, but defended it confidently. In return, the native of Augsburg got his opponent's serve three times.

The German number one, Alexander Zverev, will intervene in the individual events on Wednesday at the earliest. Zverev is waiting for the winner of the game between Félix Auger-Aliassime and Juan Ignacio Londero.
