ATP NextGen Finals: Tiafoe excels and Sinner with preliminary decision

In the second Round Robin round at the ATP NextGen Finals, Frances Tiafoe and Jannik Sinner were victorious in Group B. The undefeated Sinner has prematurely qualified for the semifinals at the 1.4 million US-dollar indoor hard court tournament in Milan. By contrast, Ugo Humbert, who lost to Tiafoe, has already been eliminated.

Frances Tiafoe (ATP 47) won 4: 2, 4: 3 (5), 1: 4, 4: 0 in a thrilling game against Ugo Humbert (ATP 55) with spectacular winners on both sides in four sets , While in the first two sets Umbert served to harmless and inpuncto offensive left the American to the field, knew on the opposite side Tiafoe often with strong volley point wins to shine. In the third round, the Frenchman became more offensive and decided the passage for himself. In the fourth set, the left-hander then suffered a break early in the interim 1: 2, Umbert could not compensate until the end. /

Sinner perfectly

Young South Tyrolean Jannik Sinner (ATP 95) barely gave Mikael Ymer (ATP 74) a chance in the second match of the Night Session. Like in his opening victory against Tiafoe, Sinner played again very strong and won confidently in three sets with 4: 0, 4: 2, 4: 1.

In the final third Round Robin round on Thursday, the match between Tiafoe and Ymer is about the second semi-final ticket next to Sinner. The duel between the early qualifying Sinner and the retired after two defeats Umbert, however, is meaningless in terms of the semi-finals qualification.
