Kyrgios, who is accused of assault but is not considered a defendant, can be represented by a lawyer on August 23. He was originally summoned to appear before the district court in the Australian capital Canberra on August 2nd.

During Wimbledon it became known that Kyrgios was allegedly injured after an incident in December 2021. "It's related to a private relationship," Kyrgios' attorney Jason Moffett said. "The nature of the allegations is very serious and Mr. Kyrgios takes the allegations very seriously."

The 27-year-old registered for the Masters in Cincinnati/Ohio (August 14 to 21) in August in preparation for the US Open in New York (from August 27). At Wimbledon, on the advice of his lawyers, Kyrgios did not comment on the allegations.
