Jan-Lennard Struff quickly stated during his exit interview in Munich that he would really like to see a "3" as the first number in his world ranking. At the time of his testimony, however, I guessed that this could be a close affair. Because in fact Albert Ramos-Vinolas has overtaken the German number two in the current ATP charts with his victory in Estoril, which means Struff is currently at position 40, Ramos-Vinolas at 37, which made the Spaniard nine places.

Nikoloz Basilashvili, tournament winner in Munich, improved by four places, the Georgian is currently in 31st place. Remarkable: Juan Manuel Cerundolo, the 19-year-old Argentine, won his second event in the ATP Challenger tournament in Rome Year after the ATP Tour title in Cordoba. Cerundolo jumped 24 places to 152nd.

Djokovic leads - and does without Madrid

The really big points will not be awarded again until this week in Madrid. Which will also have greater implications for the Race to Turin, the 2021 annual ranking. This leads Stefanos Tsitsipas in front of Andrey Rublev and Novak Djokovic. The Serb, on the other hand, is in first place in the regular world rankings, but does not compete in Madrid. A chance for Rafael Nadal to close the gap on his big rival.
