ATP: Stefanos Tsitsipas also hits Mallorca

With Tsitsipas and the current world number one and defending champion Daniil Medvedev , two tennis superstars from the top ten in the world rankings will be playing at the tennis highlight in the Mallorca Country Club next week.
Together with the two Wimbledon semifinalists of the previous year, Hubert Hurkacz (POL/ATP-12) and Denis Shapovalov (CAN/ATP-15), as well as the two Spanish local heroes Pablo Carreno Busta (ATP-19) and Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP- 20) there are no fewer than six top 20 players at the Mallorca Championships. With veteran Feliciano Lopez , another Spaniard has received a wildcard for the main draw, and Australian crowd favorite Nick Kyrgios is also there in Mallorca.
Stefanos Tsitsipas has eight ATP tournament victories (including the ATP Finals 2019 in London and the Masters 1000 tournament in 2021 and 2022 in Monte Carlo) and has already set some records in his young career. By entering last year's final of the French Open in Paris, Tsitsipas was the first Greek to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament. He was also the youngest player in a final in the four majors since Andy Murray at the Australian Open in Melbourne in 2010 at the age of 22 in Roland Garros in 2021.

This season, Tsitsipas is particularly important to do well in the grass tournaments, which he reiterated last week at a press conference in Stuttgart: “I’ve always had grass tennis in my head. I love this rubber - no matter what my results say. In recent years, unfortunately, I haven't been able to show what I'm capable of on grass. I want to change that this year and will invest everything in it," said Tsitsipas, who will also compete in doubles with his brother Petros at Mallorca Country Club.
