Austria celebrated their third victory in the fourth match in Group I at the Billie Jean King Cup. Furthermore, the narrow 1:2 defeat against the favorites from Slovenia is the only defeat of Marion Maruska's women so far.

For a long time, however, things did not look rosy for the ÖTV women against Sweden on Thursday. As expected, Sinja Kraus was able to make it 1-0 for the Austrians in the first single of the day, but the country's number one, Julia Grabher, surprisingly had to accept the equaliser.

The decisive double finally turned out to be a thriller. The Austrians were already behind with set and break, Sweden even had the chance to end the match on their own serve in set two with a score of 5:4, but Kraus/Klaffner started the fabulous comeback. With 4: 6, 7: 5 and 6: 0, the two ÖTV women finally got the upper hand.

At the end of the group games, the Austrians meet the favorites from Croatia.
