Billie Jean King Cup: Budapest dropping out of the final tournament - ITF must look for a replacement
The final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup will not take place in Budapest as planned. The Hungarian Tennis Association has surprisingly withdrawn as the organizer.

The final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly Fed Cup) should have been held in Budapest for three years, now the ITF has to look for a new venue.
"We are surprised and disappointed at the news that the HTA (Hungarian Tennis Association) no longer considers it possible to host the event in Budapest," said the ITF in a statement. Currently there is no other alternative than to terminate the host contract and look for an alternative solution.
In contrast, the Davis Cup recently announced that it would host games in Innsbruck and Turin in addition to the main venue for the final.
