Simona Halep wants to go to the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup with Romania

When the final of the Billie Jean King Cup 2021, formerly the Federations Cup, will be played has not yet been determined. The week before the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart was actually planned for this, with Budapest as the venue. Twelve national teams are planned for this, which are composed according to the following principle: The two finalists of the previous year plus the host nation plus a wildcard.

And eight teams that qualify through the playoffs. That means: those teams that finish fifth to twelve in the final in 2021 have to go to an elimination round against eight teams that want to come up. And exactly those eight teams will be determined on April 16 and 17.

Also interesting is the Latvian team with Anastasija Sevastova and Jelena Ostapenko, the 2017 French Open winner. The Latvians have to play against India.

And Kiki Bertens, who is plagued by injuries, is also going to the bail for the Netherlands. The opponents from China have to prove themselves on clay against Bertens and Arantxa Rus in s'Hertogenbosch.
