Strong performance by the Swiss Tenns women at the Billie Jean King Cup finals in Glasgow: The team around captain Heinz Günthardt made it into the semi-finals with a win over Canada. First, Viktorija Golubic won a three-set win (2: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4) over Bianca Andreescu, then Belinda Bencic ensured the triumph before a decisive one with a 6: 0, 7: 5 win over Leylah Fernandez double.
In the semi-finals, the Swiss will now face either the Czech team or the team from the USA. The game will be played immediately afterwards.
