Billie Jean King Cup: Switzerland follows Russia into the final
Switzerland followed the Russian team into the final of the Billie Jean King Cup. With two convincing solo appearances, Jil Teichmann and Belinda Bencic made everything clear early on.

The tennis ladies from Russia and Switzerland are in the final of the Billie Jean King Cup on Saturday. Lyudmila Samsonowa and the doubles Weronika Kudermetowa / Samsonowa made perfect victory in a hard-fought duel with Team USA with two successes. The last time the Russians reached the final was in 2015, when the competition was still called the Fed Cup.
The Swiss around Olympic champion Belinda Bencic had less trouble against Australia, who for their part competed without Wimbledon champion Ashleigh Barty. Jil Teichmann first prevailed against Storm Sanders 6: 0, 6: 3 before Bencic made it into the final with 6: 3, 6: 2 against Ajla Tomljanovic.
