The surprising triumph of tennis legend Boris Becker in 1985 at Wimbledon comes as a feature film on television. On December 16, RTL will broadcast "The Rebel - From Leimen to Wimbledon" at 8:15 pm, which will retold the "phenomenal success story of the youngest Wimbledon winner" in history, the broadcaster wrote in a message. Becker was only 17 years old when he won the legendary Grand Slam tournament.

The film shows the "uncompromising nature of professional sport, the tough fight to the top" and gives "insights into the psyche and life of a boy who becomes a tennis idol at an early age and has to deal with sudden fame". The basis is the book "I am a player: The life of Boris Becker" by Fred Sellin. Actor Bruno Alexander will appear as Boris Becker.
