Wimbledon: record hunter Novak Djokovic in the semifinals against debutant Sinner

The winner of the last four Wimbledon finals reached the round of four at the All England Club for the twelfth time in his 400th match at a Grand Slam, defeating Russia's Andrey Rublev 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 , 6:3.
Djokovic celebrated his 101st win at Wimbledon after a playing time of 2:47 hours with several shouts of joy. "I love it," he said afterwards of his role as the hunted, not least on the sacred turf, where he has now won 33 times in a row. "Every tennis player wants to be in a position where the others on the court want to beat them."
Djokovic is in the semifinals of one of the four Grand Slams for the 46th time, so far only Roger Federer has succeeded. The opponent of the Serb, who can also draw level with the Swiss with an eighth title in the lawn Mecca, is the South Tyrolean Jannik Sinner on Friday.
For the first time in his career, Sinner reached the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam in his fifth attempt. The 21-year-old, eighth in the world rankings, defeated outsider Roman Safiullin from Russia, who was only ranked 92nd, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. In doing so, he finished first in the final four of the men's individual competition.
"It means a lot to me, we invested a lot, made a lot of sacrifices, even off the field, to make this dream come true," said Sinner, who was already ahead with a break in the second set, but then weakened briefly. After 2:14 hours, Safiullin made a mistake on the first match point.
