After his triumph at the ATP-1000 event in Shanghai, Daniil Medvedev was originally scheduled to play this week. But the Russian refrains after the exhausting past weeks on the start in Moscow and wants to thoroughly prepare instead for his four remaining tournaments of the year.

"As a professional, I can not answer for being in the field unless I'm one hundred percent," said the US Open finalist in Moscow on Tuesday. Replaced is the originally topped medvedev of Lucky Loser Nikola Milojevic, who meets Alibek Kachmazov or Alen Avidzba in the second round.

Vienna, Paris, London, Madrid

For Medvedev, the ATP 500 event in Vienna is already on the agenda next week. A cancellation is not an option despite the short-term withdrawal from his home tournament. The 23-year-old would be in the Austrian capital even before Dominic Thiem in first place.

Then it will be for the world ranking fourth to Paris Bercy and for the first time to the ATP Finals in London, before the Davis Cup finals in Madrid takes place. In the Spanish capital, it could come in the group stage to a new edition of the US Open final with Rafael Nadal.
