Often there is talk of the mill from which Rafael Nadal's opponents can no longer find a way out - and in the end are playfully crushed. At Nadal, this is especially true in Roland Garros. In recent years, Novak Djokovic has turned it into a science - regardless of time, place and subsurface. If the factory runs once, a match against the best player in the world can actually be declared lost.

And so Dennis Novak kept up well at the beginning of the second encounter of the day against Djokovic in Innsbruck, but in the decisive phase the Serb played too well - Djokovic didn't make any mistakes, he even increased the pace when it was necessary. And didn't look back after the break to 5: 3 in the first set.

Even after that, Novak kept up well in most rallies, but the defensive qualities of his opponent brought the Austrian to his limits in terms of play. Good to see when the ball made it 1-0 in the second round: Djokovic concluded a rally with a simple passing ball - after Novak had dominated the rally, but Djokovic could not throw it off balance. After exactly one hour of play, the favorites were 6: 3 and 6: 2.

So the Serbs lead 2-0 without catching up. In the opening game Dusan Lajovic tried hard against Gerald Melzer, but finally won 7: 6 (5), 3: 6 and 7: 5.
