Dominic Thiem is far from 100 percent

It was clear to Dominic Thiem that he is still far from 100 percent after his break from illness. The Austrian often played too passively, relying too much on his slice, especially on the backhand side. The 20-year-old Ruusuvuori, on the other hand, wobbled over the indoor court in Espoo, did not show that he had only started in doubles a few minutes earlier.

Thiem had three chances to break early in the first set, but failed to take the lead. The Finn trembled a bit at the score of 5: 3, but Thiem did not make the comeback. In the second round, the favorite initially presented, but nevertheless gave up their serve game to 2: 3. In the following game Thiem had the compensation on the racket, Ruusuvuori defended himself deftly. And finally sealed the defeat of Thiem with the second break to 5: 2. Scgon with his first match ball Emil Ruusuvuori equalized in the international match.

So in the last single Dennis Novak has to judge for Austria. Or Sebastian Ofner? The enemy will most likely be Patrik Niklas-Salminen. And he did very well against Thiem on Friday
