Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic has led Serbia to the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup final tournament in Madrid. In Group A Djokovic secured his team on Thursday by the 6: 3, 6: 3 against Benoit Paire victory over France, previously had already won Filip Krajinovic against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. In the quarterfinals, the Serbs meet on Friday (from 11.00 clock / DAZN) on Russia.

Last year's finalist France, however, has no chance of reaching the knockout stages even before the final doubles. Defending champions Croatia were eliminated on Wednesday.

Germany also has a place in the quarter-finals after the success of Philipp Kohlschreiber. The team of Michael Kohlmann meets on Friday either Kazakhstan or Great Britain.
