Davis Cup: Final group stage will be played in September
The final group phase of the Davis Cup 2022 will be held from September 14th to 18th. This was announced by the ITF and Kosmos on Thursday.

The feedback from the players from last year was listened to and taken to heart, according to the ITF and the organizer Kosmos in a broadcast. At the end of 2021, four groups of four were at the start in three cities (Innsbruck, Turin and Madrid) (two of them in the Spanish capital), this year four cities are now to host a group of four teams each from September 14th to 18th . Who this will be depends on the outcome of the qualifying round at the beginning of March.
Defending champions Russia, last year's finalists Croatia and two wild card teams, Great Britain and Serbia, have qualified for the final round. Germany must win against Brazil to take part in Rio de Janeiro, Austria is also away to South Korea.
The Davis Cup title is then to be carried out from the quarter-finals on November 23rd to 27th. At what location is not yet certain. In 2019 and 2021 the winners were chosen in Madrid, in 2020 the final round was not played due to the corona pandemic.
