Third year of the new Davis Cup final format - and for the third time the winner will be chosen in Spain. This time, however, not in the Caja Magica in Madrid like in 2019 and 2021, but in Malaga. Eight nations will play for the title there from November 21st to 27th. The ITF and the marketing company KOSMOS had flirted with a final tournament in Abu Dhabi, but nothing has come of it. Malaga was also confirmed as the final destination for 2023.

However, it will not be available between September 14th and 18th. During this period, the eight quarter-finalists will be determined in four groups of four. It will be played in Hamburg, Glasgow and Bologna. The replacement venue for Malaga is now set to be announced ahead of the draw on April 26.

Exciting, by the way: While Spain has already been set for the final phase in the last two years, it could happen to the Iberians in the current edition that they are already eliminated in September. Then the final tournament would be played without a home team.
