Novak Djokovic missed the Davis Cup final with Serbia. The world number one lost in the semi-finals in Madrid with his team against Croatia 1: 2. In the final, the title holder from 2005 and 2018 will face Germany or Russia on Sunday.
Djokovic was also unable to prevent Serbia's defeat. The Grand Slam record champion won the singles against Marin Cilic 6: 4, 6: 2 and thus forced the decision in doubles. There, however, the 34-year-old lost to the Croatian Nikola Mektic / Mate Pavic 5: 7, 1: 6 on the side of Filip Krajinovic. Germany and Russia will determine the final opponent on Saturday (1 p.m. / ServusTV). The selection of the German Tennis Federation (DTB) qualified for the semifinals of the most important team competition on Tuesday for the first time in 14 years.
