Oscar Otte failed because of Felix Auger-Aliassime

A match point remains for the German Davis Cup team, after Felix Auger-Aliassime - the number one on the Canadian side - had equalized against Oscar Otte. The sixth in the world rankings had to work reasonably hard for his success in the second individual - Otte held up well in the first section and had a chance of a break even in the first service game, but Auger-Aliassime was able to thwart it well.

As a result, the game was balanced, a tie-break had to make the decision. Felix Auger-Aliassime dominated the action with extremely powerful tennis, but also benefited from an early double fault by his German opponent. The Canadian gratefully accepted this gift and made it 7: 6 (1) to make it 1: 0 for the Canadian team, which was already under a lot of pressure after Denis Shapovalov's surprising opening defeat by Jan-Lennard Struff.

Felix Auger-Aliassime did his job with great concentration and made the first break of the match in the seventh game of the second round. The decision, as it turned out a little later. The youngster stayed on his own serve - like almost the entire match - and fixed the 7: 6 (1) and 6: 4 success a little later. So now the doubles between Tim Pütz and Kevin Krawietz on the part of the Germans and Vasek Pospisil and Denis Shapovalov (according to plan) must bring the decision (live on ServusTV Germany and in our ticker )
