Croatia has reached the semi-finals of the Davis Cup for the fifth time. The 2005 and 2018 champions won against Italy 2-1 on Monday in Turin. In the decisive double, Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic won 6: 3, 6: 4 against Fabio Fognini / Jannik Sinner .

What a Davis Cup evening in Turin! Croatia and Italy fought a relentless fight on Monday - with a better ending for the Croatians, who were ultimately to prevail in the decisive doubles. In the semi-finals on Friday in Madrid, Croatia will meet Serbia around top star Novak Djokovic or Kazakhstan. The German team, which prevailed in the preliminary round before Djokovic and Co., will play against Great Britain on Tuesday (4 p.m. / ServusTV) to make it to the semi-finals.
