Serbia versus Kazakhstan: What at first glance looked like a clear affair in favor of the men from Serbia, took an exciting turn after almost exactly three and a half hours and the end of the first individual. It was not Miomir Kecmanovic who should put his team in the lead in the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup Finals, instead Mikhail Kukushkin gave the Kazakhs the advantage. The 33-year-old got the upper hand in an epic fight in the tie-break of the third set.

Undoubtedly a mandatory victory for the Kazakhs if they didn't want to have to give up after the individual ones. Because on the "1s" position with the Serbs, Novak Djokovic, who is number one in the tennis world, went to work on Wednesday. In his duel with Alexander Bublik, the Serb presented himself extremely confidently from the start.

In set one, the industry leader managed the early break to 3: 1, which he could easily transport to 6: 3 set win. Even in set two there were never any doubts about the winner of this game. Djokovic broke Bublik in the third game of the set - and after about an hour and 20 minutes made the easy two-set success perfect. So the doubles have to decide on the entry into the semi-finals. This is where Cacic / Djokovic and Golubev / Nedovyesov meet.
