“It is a great signal that we can compete in the best line-up in the Fraport Arena. That speaks for the growing team spirit in our team and the boys' desire for this home game, ”emphasizes Kohlmann. “We will go full throttle right from the start, because our goal is clearly the qualification for the final round in Madrid. For the spectators in Frankfurt it will definitely be a party and we are looking forward to a goose bump mood in front of the full ranks. ”

The German team is led by Alexander Zverev, the reigning ATP world champion. "It cannot be overestimated that Sascha made himself available for this encounter despite the stress on the tour," said Captain Kohlmann about his number one. Philipp Kohlschreiber is also part of the German Davis Cup squad.

“Over the past few years, Philipp has repeatedly demonstrated how valuable he is to us. We are happy to have him back in our ranks with all of his experience. ”The Davis Cup captain is once again trusting in his still unbeaten double, consisting of Jan-Lennard Struff - who ranked 21st in ATP's Doubles Ranking - and Tim Pütz: “I am glad that we have a well-coordinated team with the two that has always been good for one point. Jan-Lennard is also a good alternative for the individual. ”

Another option is Peter Gojowczyk, who is also part of the German Tennis Federation - according to regulations, five players have been nominated since last season. "Peter has put himself in the team's best role at every appearance he has made in the Davis Cup and is also an extremely good player on hard court who can beat any opponent," says Kohlmann.
