Cameron Norrie made it exciting against Arthur Rinderknech in the second set

Cameron Norrie made it really exciting again towards the end of his match against Arthur Rinderknech: The Briton initially missed a match point in the tie-break, but had to parry two chances for the French to equalize the set. In the end, however, the Brit prevailed 6: 2 and 7: 6 (8), giving his team an early victory against France.

Because in the first match of the day in Innsbruck's Olympia World, Daniel Evans had won against Adrian Mannarino 7: 5 and 6: 4. The final doubles are nevertheless of some importance: If Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski prevail against Nicolas Mahut and Arthur Rinderknech, then the French can no longer win Group C.

The Czech Republic would still have a chance, but would have to win 3-0 against Great Britain on Sunday.
