Davis Cup: Kosmos is out, now the ITF has the reins in hand again
The tennis world association has separated from the investment group Kosmos and regained control of the Davis Cup. This was confirmed by an ITF spokeswoman for the AFP news agency.

The Kosmos consortium, led by former Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique, got involved in 2018 for three billion dollars and 25 years, as part of this step the team competition was reformed.
"The ITF confirms that its partnership with Kosmos Tennis for the Davis Cup will end in its fifth year," the spokeswoman said. The competition will take place as planned this year, with the final tournament taking place in Malaga (November 22nd to 26th).
The Davis Cup reform was highly controversial, with resistance from the major tennis nations of Great Britain, Australia and Germany, among others. Since 2019, the Davis Cup, which was introduced in 1900, has been played in the new format. Currently, instead of four rounds of home and away games spread throughout the year, the world group sees 18 teams play for the trophy in a week-long tournament in the second half of November.
