Holger Rune seems to have coped reasonably well with the dramatic end to Andrey Rublev at the Australian Open. Because at the Davis Cup meeting of the Danes with India, Rune almost single-handedly made sure that the home fans had something to celebrate. On Friday, the 19-year-old won 6-2 and 6-2 against Yuki Bhambri, on Saturday he followed up with Johannes Inglidsen in doubles against Rohan Bopanna and Bhambri. Finally Rune also won against Sumit Naga with 7:5 and 6:3.

Denmark play in World Group 1 and will now play one of the losers from September's World Group for a spot in World Group 1 in the autumn. The same applies to Greece. In Athens, Stefanos Tsitsipas had problems against the Ecuadorian Alvaro Guilen Meza at the beginning, but won 7: 5 and 6: 2. Aristotelis Thanos made it 2-0 against Andres Andrade for Greece, who have three chances to win tomorrow's game.

In the world group, the Americans were able to celebrate as winners in Uzbekistan after the doubles. Rajeev Ram and Austian Krajicek got the decisive point against Sanjar Fayziev and Sergey Fomini. And Serbia is also through - with a win in Oslo against Norway, which started without Casper Ruud. The victory of the Serbs was certain after Nikola Cacic and Filip Krajinovic scored 6: 4, 3: 6 and 6: 3 against Viktor Durasovic and Herman Hoeyeraal.
