He made a double appearance for San Marino in Europe group four against Iceland. The veteran lost alongside 17-year-old Simone De Luigi, but San Marino eventually prevailed 2-1.

"It's a great achievement for me. It's been a long journey, but from the start I've been able to travel to so many places and see so many things," said Vicini, who made his debut in 1993. He will continue to play as long as he can. On Saturday, promotion is at stake in the play-offs against hosts Azerbaijan in Baku.
