Dominic Thiem will probably continue to work with Nicolas Massu

The collaboration between Dominic Thiem and Nicolas Massu as tour coach is likely to continue. At least that's how Karin Thiem, the mother of Austria's number one, is quoted in a Chilean portal.

After the gala performance in Indian Wells, where Thiem had beaten Roger Federer in the final, the whole throng had left for Miami. There, however, the Lichtenwörther lost to Hubert Hurkacz right at the start and had to put a tick behind the two major US hard court tournaments of the spring. Until the clay court season, Thiem now has a few more days to prepare - and it looks as if Nicolas Massu, two-time Olympic champion in Athens 2004, will continue to give the tour coach in the Austrian's box.

At least that is how Karin Thiem is quoted in the Chilean portal latercera.com. "Yes, they will continue to work together," said Mother Thiem in Miami.

At the instigation of head coach Günter Bresnik, Massu experimented with Team Thiem at the ATP tournament in Buenos Aires, where the defending champion reached the semi-finals, in which he was defeated by Diego Schwartzman despite good chances. In Rio de Janeiro, the first round went bankrupt against the eventual tournament winner Laslo Djere, then in Indian Wells Dominic Thiem's greatest career triumph.
