Erler and Miedler, sensational winners in the Wiener Stadthalle last year, entered the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Adelaide one day later than originally planned and against "new" opponents. Quentin Halys and Constant Lestienne slipped into the tableau as alternates and gave the two Austrians a few tricky tasks. In the end, Erler/Miedler won 3:6, 7:5 and 10:5. But now a really difficult test awaits them: the third-placed pair of Harri Heliovaara and Lloyd Glasspool.

Jurij Rodionov made it really exciting when he made his first appearance at the ATP Challenger in Canberra, where compatriot Filip Misolic was eliminated yesterday. Rodionov fended off Gilles Brouwer's match points and finally won 2: 6, 7: 6 (7) and 7: 6 (7). Rodionov meets Japan's Yosuke Watanuki in round two.
