Tournament director Herwig Straka gave the three Austrians a wildcard, as did the up-and-coming Swiss Dominic-Stephan Stricker. For Lucas Miedler it starts against Peter Gojowczyk, the German last reached the round of 16 at the US Open and was in the semifinals in Metz. Jurij Rodionov has taken number three in qualifying for the ATP Tour 500 tournament, it goes against Kevin Anderson.

Alexander Erler finally has to play against the Italian Gianluca Mager. Skinny is number five in the tableau, which is led by Frances Tiafoe in front of his American compatriot Marcos Giron. The Austrian matches were all scheduled in the Wiener Stadthalle, with Erler kicking off at 11 a.m. in front of Miedler. Rodionov concludes the program with the fourth individual.
