With his strokes and elegant movements, the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov is one of the virtuosos in the tennis circus - the bow to Johann Strauss is quickly drawn. The winner of eight ATP tournaments paid a visit to the monument of the Viennese Waltz King in the city park and symbolically converted his tennis racket into a violin. The young Norwegian star Casper Ruud also stopped at the “Schanis” statute while taking a walk.

On the tennis court he knocks the opponents softly with nice regularity, this time it was the turn of the Wiener Schnitzel for Mario Plachutta in the Wollzeile. And here too, the Italian Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini showed quite a talent - supported by Chef de Cuisine Michael Vajc . The semi-finalist of Vienna 2019 let the delicious schnitzel melt in your mouth after the work was done. "It tasted excellent, just before a match that would probably not be the best food," smiled Berrettini.

The Rado-ProAm has become an integral part of the Erste Bank Open program. This year, two teams headed by the two tennis legends Thomas Muster and Barbara Schett competed against each other. The “Team Muster” included cabaret artist Viktor Gernot , gallery owner Alexander Giese and Erste Group CFO Stefan Dörfler . “Team Schett” held against it with ÖTV sports director Jürgen Melzer , entertainer “Tricky Niki” , star violinist Julian Rachlin and Schönbrunn Group managing director Klaus Panholzer. In the end, the team of the Tyrolean tennis lady prevailed and received the Rado ProAm trophy for it. Jürgen Melzer received a Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic as an honorary award for his services to tennis, which Erste Bank Open tournament director Herwig Straka , Rado Austria brand manager Peter Gauss and Colony Club manager Johannes Graski presented.

After a business deal, the former world number one Thomas Muster had a doctorate on Monday morning with Stefan Dörfler , CFO of Erste Group. Tournament ambassador Muster and the bank manager were promoting the Erste Bank Open in civil and business clothes in front of the Erste Campus. A net was set up quickly, balls were also ready to hand - so the "double" Muster / Dörfler was able to hit a few balls over the net in front of employees of Erste Bank and numerous onlookers. In the end, the French Open triumphant in 1995 also signed autographs, much to the delight of the tennis “lapwings”.
