Erste Bank Open: Erler, Neumayer fail in the first qualifying round
Alexander Erler and Lukas Neumayer were eliminated in the first round of the qualifying competition for the Erste Bank Open 2022.

Neumayer started the qualification for the largest Austrian ATP tournament. But Quentin Halys had to admit defeat with 1: 6 and 4: 6. The Frenchman came to Vienna with the recommendation to win the ATP Challenger tournament in Ismaning. Next up for Halys will be Argentina's Pedroc Cachin.
Alexander Erler was eliminated by Pedro Sousa 6:7 (5) and 5:7. The last local hero with a chance of progressing was Lucas Miedler, who had to face USA's JJ Wolf later on Saturday.
With Dominic Thiem, Dennis Novak, Jurij Rodionov and Filip Misolic, four Austrians are in the main draw of the traditional ATP Tour 500 tournament in the Wiener Stadthalle.
