At least a little taste of what it is like to have a home crowd behind you, Lucas Miedler got at the ATP 500 event in Vienna: When the Austrian managed the rebreak to 4: 5 in the first set, it got really loud for the first time decimated backdrop in the Austrian capital. Miedler could not use this support, however, the 24-year-old should have to accept the new break after a catastrophic service game a little later - and with it the loss of the set.

Pichler and Erler also in action on Saturday

In the second round, Lorenzo Sonego, who had reached the round of 16 at the French Open, remained the leading player in the field. The Italian often looked for Miedler's backhand, who with it scattered too many mistakes without need. Also in the second set it was a corked service game by Miedler that should give Sonego the advantage. The man from Turin grabbed the break to make it 4: 2, confirmed it without any problems and after a little over an hour got the 6: 4 and 6: 3 success.

Sonego now meets the winner of the duel between Aljaz Bedene and the Austrian David Pichler. Alexander Erler will also serve in front of the home crowd on Saturday, but the Tyrolean had an extremely difficult start with the Canadian Vasek Pospisil.
