That was quick. Daniil Medvedev took just one hour to say goodbye to Nikoloz Basilashvili with 6: 2 and 6: 2 from the Erste Bank Open 2022. This will result in the hoped-for duel with Dominic Thiem on Thursday (from around 3:30 p.m. live on TV and live stream on ServusTV and in our live ticker). The Austrian had already prevailed on Tuesday after defending two match points against Tommy Paul from the USA in the tie-break of the third set.

In the previous match, Tsitsipas had beaten Dennis Novak 7: 6 (2) and 6: 2. Tsitsipas is second in Vienna behind Medvedev and meets Borna Coric in the round of 16 on Thursday.

Daniel Evans is already in the quarterfinals. The Brit won 6-2 and 6-2 against Karen Khachanov and is waiting for the winner of the encounter between Taylor Fritz and Denis Shapovalov.
