Dominic Thiem does not meet Kei Nishikori as planned.

Dominic Thiem has to change his plans at short notice. A circumstance that will not be wrong for the Austrian, however, he had recently emphasized that he had the greatest respect for his original first-round opponent at the Erste Bank Open, for Kei Nishikori. It has now been announced that it will not go against the Japanese after all, Nishikori had to withdraw due to injury.

He is replaced by the Ukrainian Vitaliy Sachko, who narrowly failed to Norbert Gombos in the second qualifying round. Sachko ranks 529th in the world ranking list and is accordingly a much more pleasant start for Austria's number one. Especially since the field of participants in the Erste Bank Open is otherwise just packed with top stars. Sachko and Thiem will play the third game after 2 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday.

Schwartzman and de Minaur are also withdrawing

As early as Monday morning it became known that yesterday's ATP finalists Alex de Minaur (final in Antwerp) and last year's finalist Diego Schwartzman (Cologne final) had withdrawn their start at the ATP 500 event in Vienna. Jason Jung and Lorenzo Sonego stepped into the field as lucky losers for them.
