Philipp Oswald and Oliver Marach stayed victorious in two sets in the Austrian duel against Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler.

While Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler did not win a ticket for the strong main competition in the single qualification despite their strong performances, the two fought their way through the double qualification impressively and successfully at the same time. In the main draw of the double competition, however, it was now over - but if a defeat, then at least against the Austrian top duo: Oliver Marach and Philipp Oswald won in the first round of the Erste Bank Open 6: 3, 7: 5 against the Tyrolean and the Lower Austrians.

Erler / Miedler had prevailed in the two previous qualifying games against Simone Bolelli / Maximo Gonzalez (6: 3, 6: 2) and Sander Gille and Dominik Koepfer (7: 5, 6: 4). Marach / Oswald, who entered the tournament with a wildcard, will face the winners of the game Jürgen Melzer / Alexander Zverev against the three seeded John Peers and Filip Polasek in the quarter-finals.

Here is the double draw from Vienna.
