Stefanos Tsitsipas meets Dennis Novak on Wednesday

Stefanos Tsitsipas will play his 77th match of the year on Wednesday. Although the Greek has a good record of 56 wins and 20 losses and thus already secured his ticket for the ATP Finals in Turin, he fell short of his expectations this season. Especially at the Grand Slam level (semifinals, round of 16, third round and first round), Tsitsipas was anything but convincing.

And so for Tsitsipas, who played more matches than all other players on the tour this season, the last three tournaments of the current season in Vienna, Paris and Turin were about a reasonably conciliatory end to the season. At the Erste Bank Open, the 24-year-old will first meet the Austrian wildcard holder Dennis Novak, before Cincinnati champion Borna Coric could already be waiting in the second round.

Last week Tsitsipas started at the ATP 250 tournament in Stockholm, in the final he lost to Holger Rune in two sets without a sound. Nevertheless, as the Greek has not tired of emphasizing in the recent past, his love for tennis is greater than ever.

In view of his numerous appearances at smaller tournaments, this fact can hardly be disputed. And yet, of course, the question now arises as to how much power Tsitsipas still has in view of his mammoth program. There will be first information about this on Wednesday from around 4 p.m. (live on TV and live stream on ServusTV and ServusTV On as well as in the tennisnet match tracker).
