As the Spanish medium Telemadrid reported, Alex de Minaur is one of many high-ranking athletes, musicians and businessmen who are being investigated in connection with the purchase of fake COVID passports. The Australian "joins the list who allegedly may have used the network that provided false Covid passports and PCR."
This happened as part of the investigations by the Spanish police, which are said to have brought to light a total of over 600 names of potential customers of the criminal organization that is said to have issued fake vaccination certificates: including that of Alex de Minaur. Eleven people have currently been arrested and are now facing allegations of forgery and the use of forged documents.
De Minaur denies all allegations
Alex de Minaur, on the other hand, vehemently denies the allegations against him. "I received the first dose of the vaccine in London last summer and the second at the La Paz Hospital in Madrid," the Australian wrote on social media. "I want to be 100% clear that I have received my second vaccination, that I have a completely valid, accurate and truthful vaccination record. Everyone around me, including my family, is fully vaccinated."
De Minaur also dismissed the status that he was under investigation: "I am not "under investigation" in any way, as is claimed, and my name is connected to this story only because I was a patient at the hospital (like many thousands of others too)" says the Australian, who lives in Spain.
