When Beat Feuz won gold in the world championship downhill in St. Moritz in 2017, Roger Federer congratulated his compatriot on the finish line. Feuz did not allow himself to be ripped off, in return attended Federer's charity event "Match for Africa" - and also brought gifts with him.

Lindsey Vonn and Roger Federer do not share a common passport, but they do have a longer friendship, including sponsorship appointments. At the Match for Africa, the premiere in Zurich against Rafael Nadal, the American Speed Queen was also in the audience.

Vonn will now have plenty of time for this, the American has ended her career with the World Cup departure on Sunday in Are. Not with the title, but at least with winning an unexpected bronze medal. And Federer at least let himself be heard over the phone.

Already at the Australian Open, the maestro had said goodbye to a colleague with a video message in the sunset, because of course in association with his big colleagues, friends and rivals. After all, it was about Andy Murray.
