The clay court tournaments of this world are already vying for him, but Roger Federer is not stressed out. The French Open is set, what happens before that is still open.

"I am probably only planning a tournament in front of Roland Garros," revealed Federer at the promo date for the Laver Cup in Geneva . "I don't want to play much more, I want to train more and prepare well for the lawn season - I definitely don't want to start pumping it out."

Which tournament on the red ashes will it be? "We have to look," said Federer, and at least he has already tried the principle of exclusion. "Monte Carlo is probably too early."

Vacation to Melbourne-Aus

After his knockout round at the Australian Open against Stefanos Tsitsipas, Federer combined the bitter with the beautiful - and only took two weeks off, since then he's been in Switzerland. Raclette, fondue - all of that was missing, "I've only been here briefly for the Swiss Indoors since July," he reveals.

"At the same time, preparation for Dubai begins," continued Federer. The ATP 500 tournament, in which Federer is a seven-time title holder, starts on February 25th. Then it goes to Indian Wells and Miami. "And then the sand season begins - so I urgently needed a break," said the 37-year-old.
