French Open 2020: Dominic Thiem with big problems in the quarter-finals
Dominic Thiem has reached the quarter-finals at the French Open 2020. After a tough fight, the Austrian defeated Hugo Gaston from France 6: 4, 6: 4, 5: 7, 3: 6 and 6: 3.

Two games later, however, the time had come: The outsider was allowed to cheer together with the fans.
Gaston varied in his game skillfully, especially the flood of stops seemed to unsettle Thiem. No wonder that Thiem was quickly back 1: 3. Gaston was able to confirm the break this time - also thanks to a chance for a rebreak that was carelessly missed by Thiem. After 2:50 hours there was the sentence adjustment.
Dominic Thiem was allowed to start the decision set with the serve, basically no disadvantage. Especially since Thiem was able to convert the break to 5: 3 into the hard-won victory. After fending off a breakball. And after Gaston defused Thiems' first match ball with a sensational passing ball.
