Swiatek won 6: 2, 6: 1 against the Argentine qualifier Nadia Podoroska and will play for her first Grand Slam title on Saturday afternoon.

Swiatek kicked off like the much-cited fire brigade, quickly dominating with their aggressive forehand, the "heavy spin". Podoroska didn't play badly, came into play from the middle of the first set, but was powerless in the end. In set two, Swiatek quickly took a 4-0 lead, but wasn't irritated by the only break. She only gave two more points, then she had her greatest success in the bag.

Swiatek (WTA No. 54) against Podoroska (WTA No. 131) was an absolute surprise match in the semifinals in Paris. Swiatek's impressive numbers: The Pole only played 23 (!) Games on her way to the final, and so far no set has been closer than 6: 4. in the quarterfinals Swiatek had already given the tournament favorite Simona Halep 6: 1, 6: 2 no chance. Halep had not played badly here either, but simply found no remedy against Swiatek's power.

Podoroska, for her part, had won against Elina Svitolina in the round of eight.

19-year-old Swiatek is now waiting for the winner of the second semi-final between Petra Kvitova and Sofia Kenin.
