It was clear from the outset that the French Open 2020 could lead to small distortions of competition, given the late date and the potentially modest weather situation: Only one stadium in the Stade Roland Garros is equipped with a roof, the Court Philippe-Chatrier.
And so Jannik Sinner and David Goffin were almost allowed to contest their French Open 2020 prelude under laboratory conditions and in their usual work clothes.

While Victoria Azarenka had to unpack her winter clothes on the Suzanne-Lenglen court. And of course she couldn't bring her match against Danka Kovinic to the stage without a break.

Goffin, ranked 11th in Paris, had already had a problem with the draw before the match, Jannik Sinner probably doesn't even want industry leader Novak Djokovic in round one of a major. Sinner last defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in Rome. And was not impressed by the impressive circumstances in the chat room. After 5: 5 in the first set, Sinner won eleven games in a row before Goffin was able to write to 1: 3 in the third act. After less than two hours of playing time, Sinner certainly served to move into the second round.
