The 29-year-old Coburg and the Romanian prevailed 6: 3, 3: 6, 7: 6 (7: 5) against Gonzalo Escobar / Ariel Behar (Ecuador / Uruguay) in the first round of the clay court tournament.

At this year's edition in Paris, Krawietz has to do without his ancestral partner Andreas Mies, with whom he won the clay court classic in 2019 and 2020. Mies is still being rebuilt after a cartilage operation on his knee in February.
