Novak Djokovic undeterred draws his circles at the French Open 2021. The world number one did not give a set against Ricardas Berankis either, won 6: 1, 6: 4 and 6: 1 and is in the round of 16. There Djokovic meets Lorenzo Musetti, who was able to prevail against his compatriot Marco Cecchinato with 3: 6, 6: 4, 6: 3, 3: 6 and 6: 3. The 19-year-old Musetti showed the stroke of the previous tournament - by scoring a volley behind his back to the point.

For Musetti it will be the first appearance at this stage of a Grand Slam tournament, Djokovic of course has other goals. Namely the second title on the Bois de Boulogne after 2016.

And a second young Italian made it into the second week of Roland Garros: Jannik Sinner lived up to his favorite position against Mikael Ymer, winning 6: 1, 7: 5 and 6: 3. The biggest task in tennis could now wait for Sinner: Rafael Nadal. The record champion from Paris still has to win his game against Cameron Norrie.

Another quarter-final has already been decided: Jan-Lennard Struff will play against Diego Schwartzman. Struff defeated Carlos Alcaraz in three sets as did Schwartzman Philipp Kohlschreiber.
