If you wish for something often enough, it sometimes comes true. And so Alexander Zverev has not tired of emphasizing in the last few days that he has nothing to do with playing his quarter-final hit at the French Open 2022 against Carlos Alcaraz in the evening at "eight degrees and drizzle" (Zverev quote). Well: The German number one is spared this fate.

Zverev and Alcaraz meet in the third match after 12 noon on Tuesday on the Philippe-Chatrier court, ahead of Martina Trevisan and Leylah Fernandez, followed by Sloane Stephens and Cori Gauff.

Djokovic vs. Nadal in France in free stream

Incidentally, Rafael Nadal had also wished that he didn't have to work in the evening. But someone has to bite the bullet. And so the record champion will try to crack world number one, Novak Djokovic, under the Paris floodlights. Last year, Nadal did not succeed in the semi-finals. Even with a later start time.

A little gimmick on the side: In France, the streaming service Amazon has bought the rights to the night sessions. And the effort, with all due respect for Zverev and Alcaraz, to be able to exclusively broadcast the 59th duel between the two legends in the evening was understandably great. Minutes after the game plan for Tuesday was announced, the message came that Amazon Prime Djokovic will stream against Nadal freely accessible to everyone.

So win-win for everyone? Rafael Nadal will still not be happy. Because at eight degrees and drizzle, the Spaniard's game doesn't really work. After all, summery temperatures are announced for Tuesday.
